Discover the volcanic landscapes of Mount Etna on a guided hike lasting about 4.5 hours, taking you through craters, ancient lava flows, and spectacular views. Start at the cable car station at an elevation of 1,900 meters and reach 2,500 meters, where your hike will begin.
Accompanied by a guide, hike along the volcanic trails heading northwest, crossing the lava flows from the 2002 eruption. Reach an altitude of 2,700 meters and walk along a striking lava channel to an effusive crater, where you can observe the traces of volcanic activity up close.
After a short break, continue toward the highest point of the 2002 explosive craters. Admire the unique rock formations shaped by the eruptions and enjoy a panoramic view of the Valle del Bove, one of Etna’s most iconic landscapes.
On the way back, you’ll skirt the Laghetto crater, formed during the 2001 eruption, before reaching the cable car station again for the descent. Immerse yourself in the volcanic landscape of Mount Etna along a moderately difficult trail characterized by uneven terrain and unique scenery.
