Explore the northern slope of Etna with a guided 4×4 off-road vehicle excursion starting from Piano Provenzana (1,800 m).

Accompanied by licensed mountain or volcanological guides, you will travel scenic roads among ancient craters and lava flows, discovering the history and evolution of Europe’s highest volcano.

The itinerary includes stops at the most picturesque spots, including the ruins of the Le Betulle Hotel, the Umberto and Margherita craters at 2.380 m, with a short walk along the edges of the extinct craters, and Pizzi Deneri with the Volcanological Observatory at about 2,850 m, from where there are panoramic views of the summit craters, the Bove Valley and the Ionian coast.

The hike concludes in the eruptive theater of the 2002 eruption with a trek among lava flows and button craters. At the end, return to Piano Provenzana aboard the 4×4, for a complete and immersive experience discovering Etna’s volcanic landscapes.
