The ideal destinations for sledding runs in Italy are the valleys of the Dolomites and the Piedmont Alps. San Candido and Auronzo are home to the best slopes.
Children up to about 8-10 years of age can ride the sled together with a parent or chaperone in a completely safe manner. Beyond this age, the child is considered a regular participant and can ride the sled alone.
A toboggan ride costs about 30€ per person. Within the price is also included the lift. The price varies if you decide to buy a package of several descents or unlimited.
Sledding descents have a duration of about 10 to 20 minutes. Clearly it depends on the speed (governed by the driver), which can reach up to 30 to 40 km/h.
