The 3 best dinners in a mountain hut in Livigno

Night snowmobile excursion departing from Tonale Pass at about 7 pm. The snowmobile ride takes about 1 hour, after which we stop at a restaurant directly on the ski slopes for dinner.

At the end of dinner, around 11:00 p.m., we get back on the snowmobile and in about 15 minutes return to the valley.

The hut where you dine may be the Faita (Lombard side) or the Mirandola (Trentino side) depending on availability and customer willingness.

Included in the dinner are:

•    Water and Bottled Wine.

On the way back, the route is a little shorter (lasts about 15min).

The Rifugio Zoia è ready to host you for dinner at 2021 meters. The typical Valtellina cuisine and the night view of the Bernina Massif and Valmalenco will create a unique atmosphere.

Dinner consists of a 3-course set menu: a first course, a second course and a dessert, among which it will be possible to taste dishes with local products such as pizzoccheri, polenta with braised meat, cold cuts and cheeses.

The overnight stay will be in a private room. The lodge è has 13 rooms including 4 double rooms. Each room è has a private bathroom and a magnificent view. For those staying at the lodge è there is access to a private solarium and breakfast. 

The lodge è has paid parking five minutes' walk away. In winter, the road may be impassable due to excessive snow or ice even if the car è equipped with winter tires or chains. In this case, Rifugio Zoia è can be reached on foot with a snowshoe hike of about 2:30 hours, starting from Franscia. The equipment must be personal, it is not provided by the facility.

Agriturismo Ristorante Raethia è is ready to welcome you to its renovated 1700s chalet, offering a warm, family atmosphere perfect for savoring typical Valtellina dishes. The products are km0, coming from the farm of the same name that gave birth to the agriturismo.

A 20-minute drive from Bormio, in the municipality of Valdidentro, the agriturismo's conveniently accessible by car and has parking.

The menuù that is offered è perfect for those who want to discover the culinary culture of Valtellina, with authentic tastes guaranteed by local products.

Departure è scheduled at 7:30 pm from Bormio 2000 (where you will find free parking for cars and reachable without any problems but with mandatory snow tires or chains on board) and the transfer of about 10 minutes will take place by snowmobile (2-3 participants)  or snowcat (moreù participants).

Transportation è included and is by snowcat from Bormio 2000 round trip (groups over 10 people) or snowmobile (under 10 people booked at the restaurant)

La Baitella è the perfect place to taste the dishes of Valchiavenna cuisine while enjoying an excellent view of the Alps and the valley from its panoramic terrace.

About a half-hour walk from Madesimo, a municipality in the province of Sondrio, the restaurant offers authentic cuisine with km0 ingredients. Salumi, cheeses, pizzoccheri, white gnocchetti, ribs and hare meat are just some of the possible dishes you will taste.

The menuù includes:

•    Tagliere (Brisaola, Coppa, Salami, Taroz ( made with: Potatoes, Faglioni, Cheese, Butter, Onion))

Considering the Madesimo Adventure Team as the starting point, La Baitella è can be reached by a leisurely 30-minute walk, which makes the experience suitable even for those who don't usually hike in the mountains.

Dinner at the hut in Santa Caterina Valfurva will allow you to spend a pleasant evening immersed in the Alps.

Departure is planned at 7:30 p.m. from Santa Caterina Valfurva where an escort will be waiting for you in a tracked jeep and will accompany you for about 3 kilometers on the snowy roads to the lodge.

The meù offered by the lodge consists of:

•    Mixed appetizer with cold cuts and mountain salads
•    Bis of first courses (pizzoccheri and tagliatelle with venison ragout
•    Venison salmi with polenta and taneda parfait

Water and coffee are included in the price.

Dinner lasts until about 10:30 pm, and at the end you will be escorted back to the meeting point.
