A night in a cabin with snowmobile or snowcat transport in Thumel will give you a unique experience in the Rhèmes-Notre-Dame Valley. The lodge offers a choice of two experiences.

Scheduled departure times are 2:45 p.m., 4:30 p.m. or 6:40 p.m. at the Bruil snowpark. The snowmobile ascent lasts about 15 minutes. Once at the facility, it is possible to dine at the adjacent restaurant (with prior reservation at the facility). Transportation is included in the price of the stay.

Check-in will be from 3pm; check-out will be at 11am. 

Available rooms are standard, premium and family. The first two can hold up to 2 people, while the family room can hold up to 4. All rooms are equipped with all amenities (Wi-fi, kettle, mini-bar, double bed, towels).

The rooms have a unique view of the surrounding Alps with the premium and family rooms also having direct access to the green relaxation area (if on the ground floor) or a balcony (if on the second floor).

A visit to the winery will introduce you to the history of wine production at one of the most historic wineries in the Langhe region and immerse you in the picturesque Piedmont region near Alba and Barolo.

Following the tour of the winery and the estate vineyards, you can choose from 2 lunch menus offered by the winery.

The experience lasts from 2 to 3 hours and is suitable for everyone. Minors are not allowed to taste.

Gluttonous Menu (2 hours 30 minutes)

The menu includes an assortment of cold and hot appetizers from our traditional farmhouse, a homemade first course of your choice, and a delicious dessert to end the experience.

This menu includes a tasting of 3 wines.

Delicious Menu (3 hours)

This menu includes cold and hot hors d'oeuvres from the peasant tradition, followed by a homemade first course of your choice, a second course and a dessert to end the experience.

The delicious menu includes a tasting of 5 wines.

For children, there is a menu that includes pasta, schnitzel and potatoes and a final dessert so they too can enjoy this fun experience.

A sweatshirt is recommended for the winery visit.

Educational farm for children and adults to learn how to make cheese and then taste it with a glass of wine.

The experience begins with a gentle walk in the woods, a pristine corner where goats live free and happy, surrounded by the beauty of a natural environment that welcomes and protects them.

Here, you will have the opportunity to milk the goats with your own hands, collecting fresh and genuine milk, ready to be turned into delicacies. An experience that will allow you to come into direct contact with the work of the land, rediscovering the value of healthy and authentic food.

Next, you will move to a charming country "ciabot," where Paolo, with his experience and passion, will guide you in the art of cheesemaking. With the help of a rural kitchen, you will learn how to make delicious cheese, step by step. The rustic and cozy atmosphere of the "ciabot" will allow you to fully understand the artisanal process and respect for traditional methods.

In the meantime, while the milk is being transformed into cheese, you can delight your palate with a fine tasting of artisanal cheeses, both goat and cow, accompanied by a selection of typical local products, such as cured meats, honey and homemade jams, all while sipping a good glass of local wine, perhaps a Roero Arneis or a Roero Rosso, which enhance the authentic flavors of the hills.

This experience is based on the search for truffles in the Langhe, followed by a tasting of truffles, cheeses, wines and other local foods.

Initially there will be an explanation of the history and characteristics of the truffle with its types. Next, you will go out hunting with the trifulau, followed by his dogs Esterina and Lizzy, searching for truffles underground. The dogs have a trained sense of smell to smell truffles and recognize where they grow.

We will then move on to a tour of the Trifulau House where we will see the objects, pictures and mementos handed down by the Trifulau.

At the conclusion of the visit, a truffle aperitif with accompanying tasting will be served.

You will have the opportunity to see live a secret and complex craft: that between the trifulau and his dog is a close relationship made of trust and mutual respect, which comes only after many years of experience.

Departure is in Usseaux where you will initially ascend by 4x4 vehicle and then switch to snowmobile to arrive at the hut.

This is a scenic snowmobile excursion, highly recommended for the experience of the guide and the beauty of the views. 

The total duration of the tour is one hour where you will receive a short 15-minute briefing with tips on how to ride the snowmobile, brief description of the route and safety practices and then you will drive for the entire remaining duration immersed in the scenery.

The snowmobiles are new Yamaha, model Nytro 1000cc (135 hp) or Venture 500cc (90 hp), approved for 2 people and 1 person respectively.

Depending on snow conditions, the guide may move the experience to Sansicario (about 10 minutes away by car).

It is possible for two people to ride the snowmobile, with children ages 5 to 10 seated between the two adults.

A wonderful panoramic snowshoe hike that will take you through the picturesque snowy landscapes of Prato Nevoso in the province of Cuneo.

You will walk on soft white snow with views of pristine winter scenery, the colors of winter and the tranquility of the mountains. A unique experience that will repay the effort (not too much) of snowshoeing! There are several ways to perform the snowshoe outing:

Panoramic snowshoeing
You will meet the guide and once you have your snowshoes on, you will set off on the approximately two-hour hike that will run along fresh snow in the Trucca Sape' forest. Thursday through Monday, start in the morning or afternoon.
The total elevation gain of the walk is approximately 300 mt.

Snowshoeing with Aperitif
If you prefer instead a shorter hike and end with an aperitif in the fresh air among the snow, you can choose the pre-summer outing "apericiaspola" starting at 5 p.m. and lasting 1 h 30 min (snowshoeing about 1 h).

Snowshoeing with lunch at the Refuge
A fantastic snowshoeing experience to Chalet il Rosso in Prato Nevoso with lunch included. Once lunch is finished you will then descend from the lodge back to the starting point.

If there is a lack of snow, the snowshoeing can be moved to higher elevation by adding the cost of the gondola.

For lunch, The chalet offers two options of menù whose dishes reflect precisely this philosophy.
