The 5 best experiences to do on the Asiago Highland

Horseback riding on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni plateau in Asiago will allow you to have a unique experience riding a horse.

The excursions are also suitable for beginners, in fact, before the walk the guide will explain how to mount and teach you the commands to best ride the horse.

You can choose from 1- or 2-hour hikes in which you will immerse yourself in the peaceful forests and grasslands of the Plateau. The rides are available from April through November.

Sportswear with long pants and closed shoes is required to participate in the walk.

The Kubelek Shelter è located on Mount Zovetto, in Cesuna, in the province of Vicenza. Immersed in the nature of the Sette Comuni Plateau, here you can enjoy a lunch surrounded by tranquility, in a family environment, admiring the beautiful surrounding landscapes.

The specialty of the Refuge è the grilled meat and you can enjoy it in both menù proposed.

Menù 1:

•    Three first courses: Pennette all’arrabbiata; Bigoli with venison ragù  Gnocchetti pasticciati.
•    Lemon sorbet with our own ice cream.
•    Mixed grill with sausages, ribs, chops, cockerel and toasted polenta and seasonal side dishes.
•    Homemade desserts

Menù 2:

•    Antipasto: Sopressa and Speck di Asiago; Prosciutto crudo di Parma; Lardo with honey grilled Asiago Dop cheese.
•    Three first courses: Pennette all’arrabbiata; Bigoli with venison ragù Gnocchetti pasticciati.
•    Lemon sorbet with our own ice cream.
•    Mixed grill with sausages, ribs, chops, cockerel and toasted polenta with seasonal side dishes.

Both menù include water and wine produced by the refuge's winery (Tenuta Guida).

For children up to 10 years old è you can choose from the menù a la carte in struttra and pay on site according to the consumption.

Snowshoeing on the Asiago Plateau in Tonezza del Cimone will make you discover the mountains in winter from another point of view.

The first approach to winter mountains. Far from the equipped slopes, among snow-covered forests and pastures, you will get to discover the mountain completely from another point of view.

Group tour

The start of the night snowshoeing is at 4:30 pm in Tonezza del Cimone. A unique evening in the woods and whitewashed expanses. Above your head the winter sky, sharp and full of stars: you will learn to recognize the main constellations. At the end of the activity it will be possible to have dinner in the refuge or in one of the affiliated restaurants.

Private Tour

The departure of the private tour is at 10 am from Tonezza del Cimone. Together with your guide, you will enter the snowy forests and grasslands of the Tonezza and Fiorentini Plateau. Groups can be from a maximum of 15 people and the duration of the excursion is about 6 hours, ideal for a day with family or friends in close contact with nature.

For night snowshoeing clothing with heavy gloves, woolen cap and warm socks is required, while a ski suit or winter hiking outfit and waterproof hiking boots are necessary for all types of activities. A small backpack and head flashlight are recommended, and snowshoeing equipment will be provided by the facility.

Snowshoeing on the Asiago Plateau is an unmissable opportunity to discover the affacinating views that surround the entire 7 Municipalities Plateau.

The hike is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., while the meeting place varies depending on the destination of the snowshoe hike and will be communicated to you by the guide a week before the experience. Some meeting points are to be reached by bus, which requires additional costs for the afternoon parcours.

The proposed destinations are Marcesina Plain, Mount Longara, Mount Valbella, Barental Forest, and Fort Campolongo. They are all hikes with easy routes and limited elevation gain and offer breathtaking views of the entire Asiago Plateau.

The duration of the outings varies between 3 hours and 3 1/2 hours, and dates will be by arrangement with the facility.

Equipment (snowshoes and poles) is to be rented on site for a price of 10€ and winter sportswear is recommended.
