Cheese-making workshop featuring the creation and tasting of a cheese platter in an underground cave in Rome
In Rome’s Testaccio neighborhood, you’ll take part in a cheese workshop held in a ripening cave beneath Monte dei Cocci. Guided by a producer and ripener, you’ll learn how to assemble a cheese platter and pair its flavors.
You’ll learn about aging techniques and watch a demonstration of how to slice, pair, and plate the cheeses. You’ll then prepare your own cheese platter with a selection of Italian cheeses, delving into the history and characteristics of each.
You’ll conclude by tasting the cheese platter paired with regional wines and cured meats. Vegetarian options are available. The experience lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes and is conducted in Italian and English.
