Wine Tasting with Cheese and Cold Cuts in a Historic Cave in Rome
A cheese and wine tasting in the heart of Testaccio, Rome, inside a hidden cave beneath Monte dei Cocci. Together with a producer and affineur, you’ll discover how an artisanal cheese platter is created, from the selection of cheeses to the presentation.
The experience will begin with an introduction to aging and cheese-making traditions. You’ll then watch a demonstration of cutting, pairing, and plating techniques to learn how to highlight the textures and flavors of various Italian cheeses.
Next, you’ll have the chance to assemble your own cheese platter, putting the advice you’ve received into practice. You’ll conclude by tasting the cheeses alongside cured meats and regional wines in the atmospheric setting of Taste’Accio’s cave.
The activity lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes and is offered in Italian and English. Vegetarian options are available.
