Kayak excursion to Rabbit Island from Porto Cesareo
Leave from Porto Cesareo for a kayak tour of about 3 hours to discover the Marine Protected Area, including crystal clear waters and places rich in history. Paddle for about 6 km accompanied by an environmental hiking guide.
You will cross the waters of the lagoon skirting the port of Porto Cesareo and the imposing Torre Cesarea, an ancient defensive structure dating back to the 16th century that dominates the coastline. The route continues to Isola dei Conigli, famous for its small beaches and the unspoiled atmosphere that makes it one of the most evocative places on the Salento Ionian coast.
During your stop on the island you can relax on the beach, swim or snorkel in the turquoise waters. If sea conditions allow, you will also have the opportunity to observe the ancient Roman columns lying on the sandy seabed of Porto Cesareo, relics of underwater archaeology dating back to the second century AD.
The return è to the starting point at the end of the 3-hour excursion.
